"The Polkadotted Stripe" is the fourth studio album from Atlanta-based collective Jaspects. "PDS" captures the entity as it interrogates the definition of creative, social, and political sovereignty.

Jaspects is noted for offering music that finds itself somewhere in between musical trends, and social movements. "The Polkadotted Stripe" does not stray from this formula. On the album, the critically-acclaimed unit weaves through musical genres while providing the listener with a bevy of classic pieces.

Since the release of 2007's "Double Consciousness," the six-year old group has strengthened its nationwide appeal. Selections from Jaspects' catalog were featured in the groundbreaking CNN "Black in America" series. CNN.com also featured the Morehouse graduates with an online video documentary and a feature story on the CNN.com website. In January 2009, Jaspects was featured on the Millennium Stage at The Kennedy Center.

"Unifunk" approaches a new realm of sonic freedom and  experimentation that debunks the music industry's notion of genres. Techno meshed with soulful horns, a grooving bass line, and T. Brown's futuristic vocoder stylings engulf "Unifunk" and provide an opportunity for serious social commentary to entrench the listener during this dance's delight. "Unifunk's" lyrics focus on the state of the world today and spread the message of unity through "universal funk" or "Unifunk". Simply put, things would be much better if we work to understand our commonalities instead of fixating on our differences.
